The "Jack of all Cookeries"...The Rutabaga

Hello from Arugula's Star Farm,

January of the new year has arrived, and a handful of items are still hanging on well.  As there are still fresh and hardy organic vegetables out in the garden field we will be sending weekly e-mails out on a weekly to every other week basis through these up and coming winter months. **Please place orders by Thursday evening, as harvesting starts early on Fridays**
   Picking day, most normally, for the rest of the winter months will occur on Friday mornings.  Therefore, produce will be ready and placed at the ROCKET from 2:00pm on Fridays and will be available there all weekend, through Sunday.

Out of all the available items right now, the Rutabaga is my favorite.  It seems as if we are consuming this vegetable at least 5 days of the week.  It is wonderful mixed with potatoes, then steamed and mashed.  This vegetable is so sweet it can even be eaten raw like a carrot and enjoyed.  It can be diced and roasted, it can be sliced and sauteed.  Infact, I find the Rutabaga to be a "jack of all cookeries".  Please give the creamy, golden root a try, you will be thankful!
